Team Gear and Equiptment

Zachary Haw

Dear CDSC Families,

I hope this email finds you well.

We are writing to send a reminder to everyone regarding wearing Team Gear and Equipment.

  1. Team Gear

As a member of CDSC, we are proud to sport our team gear. It is imperative that all swimmers wear team gear as soon as they enter the pool deck. They must wear team gear during dryland as well as when going away to competition.

If you wish to understand the importance of wearing team gear, please read the following: https://allrush.ca/the-benefits-of-team-uniforms-in-sports/

Wearing team gear is also part of your agreement when joining the club as outlined in the team manual page 7.

“Team Uniform At the pool, when traveling, and at swim meets, CDSC swimmers are expected to wear team gear, particularly during travel on public conveyance as ambassadors of our club. Swimmers should ensure that their attire is neat and in good repair.”

Starting December 1st, coaches are instructed to warn a swimmer once when not wearing team gear. The 2 nd time a coach sees a swimmer NOT wear team gear, we will enforce wearing one by providing a swimmer a new team t-shirt and charge the family’s account thereafter.

  1. Equipment

All equipment – fins, kickboard, team tshirt, paddles, pullbuoy, mesh bag, etc must be labeled with their name and affiliation (CDSC). This helps with lost and found items.

The VAC collects a lot of lost and found and they will be present at the cashier’s office for a period of 1 week. After which, they will be sending them over to charity for donation.

The label mechanism allows us to return the lost and found item to the appropriate owner.

Thank you very much for your attention to these matters.
